Title: "Hackers Clone E-Passports"
Author: Kim Zetter

Summary: Lukas Grunwald used the Golden Reader Tool and an ACG reader to extract the data from an epassport. He then copied the data to another chip, effectively cloning the original chip.

Our response: there is nothing remarkable about reading the e-Passport data once it is in your possession. Cloning the chip is only useful for an impostor (an old problem); in any case the paper document with its security features has to be forged as well.
