What we do

Working Group 3 (WG3) provides technical input to the Machine Readable Travel Document Standard Doc 9303 of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) .  WG3 endorses the Doc 9303 standard through ISO/IEC 7501.

Task Force 3 (TF3) is the task force of WG3 responsible for Applications Issues.  This includes technical education and promotion of the Doc 9303 standard.  We provide technical articles for journals and speakers for international conferences and workshops for government officials.

This web site is intended to bring technical information on Machine Readable Travel Documents to the general public.  In particular, we want to address the misconceptions and false information that is sometimes aired in the press and blog sites.
